Quality Handmade Knives
Goodpasture Knives was created in August, 2004 by Tom Goodpasture. Currently Tom is apprenticing under P.J. Tomes, a world renowned American Bladesmith Society (ABS) Mastersmith and knife maker.
Tom currently makes a wide variety of full tang, fixed blade knives, including epicurean, hunting and fishing, and historically accurate civil war and western reproductions. Tom specializes in file knives. These are knives made from old Nicholson files of W2 steel. Tom has developed a process whereby he can anneal them slightly to avoid brittleness, yet retain a great cutting edge. These are very popular with Civil War reenactors and Cowboy Action Shooters.
Tom has worked with P.J. for three years now and is beginning to make hidden tang and forged knives. Tom works primarily with 0-1, D-2, and 420 modified stainless (available from Fisher Knives) although custom orders utilizing different steels are accepted. Handle materials include, but are not limited to, Micarta, Jigged Wood Micarta, various exotic woods, stag, and ivory.
